If you're having
trouble getting your water in, try drinking with a large straw.
You'll take bigger drinks and it will be gone before you know it.
You could also try leaving a bottle of water in each room of your
house. This way, no matter what room you're in you'll have water
available within reach. |

If you hate drinking
water, try adding a few drops of flavorings or extracts to your
glass. Vanilla is a good choice. You won't taste it, but your nose
will trick your brain into thinking it's getting a treat. |

| Want
to prevent late night snacking? Drink a glass of water, then brush
your teeth! The water will make you feel full, and the toothpaste
will help to dull your sugar craving. Some nights I brush my teeth
twice. LOL! Think about how clean your teeth will be. :) |

When looking at a new
recipe that has points listed for you, always double check the
points for yourself. I've discovered most recipes don't have
correct points. Sometimes people don't figure then correctly, and
then there's always the fact that if you use different brands, the
points can be different as well. |

Take "Before" pictures
of yourself. Then take a new picture for every 10 pounds you lose.
On days that you feel you want to give up because you aren't
losing as quickly as you'd like, take the pictures out and
compare. I know there are days that I feel like I haven't lost a
pound. All I have to do is look at my pictures and I'm motivated
again. |

Another idea is to cut out the body of someone you'd like to look
like out of a magazine, and glue your head to it. Paste it to the
front of your refrigerator as a reminder of your goal. |

|
Want to keep track of
how many pounds you've lost visually? Wash a clean glass jar with
a screw on lid (such as a mayo jar). You could trim it with
decorative ribbon or paint designs on it if you like. Fill the jar
with a pretty marble for every pound you lose. Or better yet, put
a dollar in the jar every time you lose a pound and by the time
you hit goal, you'll have some money towards a new outfit or
wardrobe. |

When buying cereal,
chips, or or other snacks that come in one bag... Measure them out
as soon as you get home into individual serving sizes and put them
in sealed baggies. Then place them back into their original
box/container and label it with how many points a baggie is. When
you're ready to have a snack, all you have to do it pull out a
baggie and close the box back up. This will prevent you from
having to get the measuring cups or scale out. It will also
prevent you from eating more than a serving size and it's quick if
you're on the go. Of course if you grab more than one baggie, you
still have to count two servings! :) |

After returning home from the grocery store, grab a black magic
marker and mark the point value of each food on the can or box as
you put the items away. Then when you open your pantry or freezer,
you'll know exactly how many points everything is without having
to get your points finder out. This really saves time! OR Take a
black magic marker with you to the grocery store, and mark the
point value of each food on the can or box (Only if you plan to
purchase the item). This way you won't have to do the figuring
twice. Then when you open your pantry or freezer, you'll know
exactly how many points everything is without having to get your
points finder out. This really saves time! |

Use applesauce instead
of oil to cut fat and calories in a recipe. |
|
|
|
When sautéing
vegetables, use chicken broth instead of oil. The vegetables will
still be tender, and you won't have to add any points to your
dish. |
