Sensible Sausage
Gravy
2 Cups
Fat Free Half and Half
1 Cup Flour
4 Cups Skim Milk
1 (8 oz.) Box Morningstar Farms Sausage Breakfast Patties, thawed
3 teaspoons Chicken Soup Base
2 Tablespoons Butter Buds
Pepper to taste
Using a fork, flake the sausage patties into small pieces to
resemble ground sausage; set aside. Pour the half and half into a
medium saucepan. Adding about 1/3 of the flour at a time, whisk
briskly until blended. Whisk the skim milk into the flour mixture.
Bring mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat whisking constantly.
Continue to cook 10 minutes or until gravy thickens. Reduce heat to
medium-low and stir in soup base, pepper, butter buds and sausage.
Simmer for 5 minutes until sausage is heated through stirring often.
Serve over fresh baked 1 point biscuits (additional points). The
gravy freezes well, thaw in the microwave.
