Honey Wheat
Pizza Dough
1 (.25
oz.) Package Active Dry Yeast
1 Cup Warm Water
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
1/4 Cup Wheat Germ
1 teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Honey
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let stand until
creamy (about 10 minutes).
In a large bowl, combine flour, wheat germ and salt. Make a well in
the middle and add the honey and yeast mixture. Stir well to
combine. Cover and set in a warm place to rise for about 10 minutes.
This is where the fun begins. You can make round or square pizzas.
If you want to make 1 large pizza, just roll the dough out onto a
floured surface. If you want to make personal sized pizzas, separate
the dough into 8 pieces (approx. 2 1/4 oz. each) and roll each piece
on a floured surface.
Roll the edges in to make a rim around the pizza and poke holes in
it with a fork. Bake the crust on a pizza pan or cookie sheet for
8-10 minutes, and then add your toppings. Once you've added your
toppings, simply continue baking until the cheese is bubbly, and the
desired crispness is achieved.
Note: The size of your pizza(s) will depend on how thin you roll the
dough and how much of a rim you roll over. Please also note this
recipe is only for the crust. You must add additional points for any
toppings you add.
